Haunted Halloween House

www.allrecipes.com

I found this idea at www.allrecipes.com for a "Haunted Halloween House" using gingerbread cookie dough as a base.  I used graham crackers instead!  Candy corn, pumpkin candy, black licorice, and frosting were all used for decorations.  Happy Halloween!

Dinner in a Pumpkin

I just made "Dinner in a Pumpkin" using a recipe from www.allrecipes.com.  There was no photo on their website, so I submitted this one that I took today.  We'll see if they accept my photo!  It has an unusual spicy flavor.  I liked it, but Gary thought it was just "okay". (Click below for the link to the website and search for "Teri's Dinner in a Pumpkin.")

Wrightwood Fire

This is how the Wrightwood fire (officially called the "Sheep" Fire) looked this morning (Tuesday, October 6, 2009) from our home.  You can see that the skies are clear--no smoky haze in our area--and the wind is calm.  Residents were able to return to their homes today after the entire town was evacuated for 48 hours.

Roof Penetrations

Today Gary and a friend worked on the roof penetrations.  This means they poked holes in the roof and installed the vents and chimney caps.  This picture shows the vent installation for the master bathroom.

This next picture shows them standing by the chimney vent for the "great room".  (The other chimney is in the master bedroom, but I didn't post a picture of it.)
