Master Bathroom Fixtures and Progress with the Electrical System

No photos this post. Our camera broke when Gary was taking pictures of the Adelanto Grand Prix motorcross race last Saturday. We thought the camera just needed new batteries; but, even after replacing the batteries, it isn't working.

There isn't much to show on the house's progress because a picture of electrical wires strung through studs isn't that exciting to look at. Gary has been working on the electrical wiring all month. He has finished wiring the great room, the bedrooms, the living room, the kitchen, the master bathroom, and the hallways. He still needs to complete the half-bathroom, the guest bathroom, and the garage.

This last rainstorm was a good way for us to check to see how water-tight the roof is, and we can report that there are no leaks! However, there is still a problem with a leak in the propane system. Gary has tried "all the tricks in the book"--using soapy water at the joints to find the leaks, as well as taking the whole system apart and starting over--all to no avail! Just so that you don't worry--the propane is not in the system yet, so we are not smelling propane in the house. The system must be filled with pressurized air before it can be charged with propane, so right now it is just leaking air; but, as long as it continues to leak, we can't progress to the next step of getting the "combo" inspection--the big inspection of the framing, electrical system, and the plumbing--checked off the list.

We purchased the toilet, the bathtub, and the sinks for the master bathroom. That was our Christmas present to each other this past year! There is a picture (from the Kohler catalog) at the bottom of this post to show a sample of the sinks. It's kind of a boring looking color, but we chose "Cashmere" for the fixtures because it will complement the slate tile that will be installed in the master bathroom. We also chose oil-rubbed bronze faucets for the same reason. The picture below shows chrome faucets--that's all the Kohler catalog showed. That's all to report for this month!
