"Slow and steady wins the race!"

Here is a picture of our entire log package, (sitting in Cedar City, Utah--ready to ship) but our building site isn't ready for logs yet!You've all heard the fable of the "Tortoise and the Hare". You'll recall that the moral of the story is "slow and steady wins the race". The progress on our home is slow and steady, and hopefully this is a good thing. We received photos from Middleton Timber showing our entire log package all wrapped and waiting to be shipped. The problem is, our building site is not ready for logs yet! Gary has been busy laying plastic and the foam insulation/thermal barrier down on the dirt. Next, he will place the wire mesh and the plastic PEX tubing on top of the thermal barrier. (The PEX tubing is the system for heating our home that uses hot water to heat the cement floor.) He hopes to be able to have the cement pad within the next two weeks. The weather is cooperating--no rain in sight--and this is a plus for us.

Middleton Timber has a system for putting in windows easily--a "Smart Jamb" that you use to slip the window into the jamb as you stack the exterior walls.
